As a design-build remodeling company, we love the challenge of turning underused spaces into something special — and this recent project hit all the right notes.
Our clients wanted to convert their unfinished attic into a drum-friendly music room that could be used day or night without disturbing the rest of the family — or their neighbors.
We started by assessing the attic’s existing layout and storage potential. Like many attic spaces, this one had knee walls— those low, angled walls under the roofline that can make a space feel awkward and underused.
We closed in those areas with access doors for storage.. This added valuable square footage without cluttering the space, giving our client plenty of room to store music gear and personal items without sacrificing the clean, open layout of the room.
To address sound, we installed acoustic wall paneling, which absorbs sound waves, reduces echo, and limits sound transmission. This keeps drumming noise contained inside the space — protecting the living areas below and maintaining peace and quiet for nearby homes.
One thing we love about working in Davidson is the strong sense of community here. It’s a town known for walkability, friendly neighbors, and people who truly care about one another — which makes considerate remodeling feel like second nature.
Our clients in this project wanted a space where creativity could flourish — without causing a disturbance to those around them. That kind of thoughtful approach is exactly what we value in our work, and we were proud to help bring that vision to life.
The final result? A previously unused attic is now a custom music room where a drummer can practice freely — without disrupting the home or the neighborhood. It’s functional, sound-friendly, and tailored exactly to the client’s needs.
While kitchen and bathroom remodels are our specialty, we love opportunities like this to show what thoughtful design-build remodeling can do. Whether it’s a basement, attic, or bonus room, we’re always up for turning underused space into something that fits your lifestyle.
