There’s something special about taking a bathroom that “still works” and transforming it into a space that feels fresh, functional, and relaxing again. That was exactly the goal with this primary bathroom remodel in Huntersville.
Built in the early 2000s, this home featured a very traditional bathroom layout common for the time. While the space functioned well, the finishes and overall design felt dated compared to the clean, timeless style the homeowners wanted to enjoy every day.
Our design build team worked closely with the homeowners to create a more elevated and functional space without completely changing the footprint of the room. By combining thoughtful design choices with updated materials and custom details, the bathroom now feels brighter, more open, and much more luxurious.
Updated Cabinetry with Better Storage

One of the biggest transformations came from replacing the original cabinetry. The new vanity instantly modernized the room while also improving everyday functionality. We also added a custom linen stack to provide additional storage — an important feature that helps keep countertops clear and essentials organized.
Storage is one of those details that can completely change how a bathroom feels to live in. Incorporating purposeful cabinetry into a remodel helps homeowners maximize both beauty and practicality.
From Drop-In Tub to Freestanding Statement Piece

The original drop-in tub was removed and replaced with a freestanding soaking tub, creating a much cleaner and more updated focal point. To make the space even more functional, we added a custom ledge nearby for candles, bath essentials, and décor.
Freestanding tubs continue to be one of the most requested features in luxury bathroom remodels throughout the Lake Norman area because they create a spa-like feel while visually opening up the room.
A Custom Shower Designed to Feel Luxurious
The shower was completely reimagined with new tile, a custom niche, and frameless glass enclosure. These details may seem simple individually, but together they completely transformed the space.
The custom niche provides convenient storage without cluttering the shower, while the frameless glass allows the tilework to become part of the design statement. Choosing the right tile pattern, scale, and finish helped create a timeless look that will age beautifully for years to come.
Thoughtful Design Makes All the Difference
One of the biggest advantages of working with a design-build remodeling team is having guidance through every detail selection — from cabinetry and tile to plumbing fixtures and layout decisions. Small choices add up quickly in a bathroom remodel, and having a cohesive design plan helps ensure the finished space feels intentional from every angle.
For homeowners in Huntersville, Cornelius, and surrounding Lake Norman communities, updating an older primary bathroom is one of the best ways to improve both daily comfort and long-term home value.
Whether your bathroom feels outdated, lacks storage, or simply no longer reflects your style, thoughtful renovations can completely transform how the space looks and functions.
