At Turner Design Build, even the smallest design details get thoughtful attention.

Shower niches might seem like a small part of a bathroom remodel, but when they’re done right, they add both beauty and function to the space. We’ve completed some beautiful bathroom remodels recently around the Lake Norman area. One of our favorite design details to include is a custom shower niche. Our in-house designer loves incorporating custom niches that feel intentional — not just practical. From sleek horizontal shelves that stretch across a tiled wall to vertically stacked cubbies framed in accent tile or stone, each design is tailored to complement the overall look of the bathroom.

A few things we consider when designing a shower niche:

• Placement: Easy to reach without disrupting the tile layout or shower flow.

• Proportion: Sized to fit your essentials without overwhelming the space.

• Material details: Using accent tile, stone, or metal trim to elevate the look.

• Waterproofing: Because design only works when it’s built to last.

Thoughtful touches like this are what make a remodel feel complete. Whether we’re building a spacious primary bath or a compact guest shower, our design-build process ensures every detail — big or small — comes together beautifully.
